Operational since 1 December 2012, the European Union Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (eu-LISA) manages large-scale IT systems that support the implementation of asylum, border management and migration policies in the EU.

Operating and evolving in an ever-changing internal security landscape, the Agency facilitates the implementation of one of EU citizens' fundamental rights – the right to free movement – for more than 400 million people.
